Just be aware that the male will need room to "run" when he's flashing and he'll skim the top of the water a lot when he's doing it. I had 3 females & a male McCosker's (sold to me as Carpenter's wrasses back then) in a 38 gallon, and when he got going he really had to stop fast to turn around in my tank. The width would probably be easier on him than the 12" I had, but he usually didn't use the width, he'd just turn in place. He didn't really have much room in my 3' tank to get up the speed he seemed to want.
