I have the same tank with the stock lighting (but upgraded flow) and am keeping softies, lps, and monti digitata and everything is thriving. My frogspawn has gone from 2 heads to 4 heads in less than a month and my zoa polyps have doubled also. I do rather large water changes for the size of the tank and does the appropiate amount of calcium every other day.

Brian that thing looks sweet. You are going to make the overflow though? I am still a little confused as to how you will do that. Explain... or post pics!

also andrew my 20g is a mess my turbo snail is like dead(it does not suction to the glass and has not moved in like 3 days so i need another turbo snail fast if u can spare one

i got the over flow glued together but not to the tank yet so i had to hold it for the pic. i have the AC in there and it will house a cartradge and my fug. nex to it will be the heater(not in the AC)than right below the AC will be a mini maxi- jet pump

i putt my base rock in my sunp if my 20g so i will leave it in there for as long as i can and my stuff from F&S sould be comming during next week so i am hopping to get water in this tank by next week. but i will see wat happens

and the snail just keep falling off the rock

hmmm i dont think that is going to work to well IMO. wouldnt it be puching more water out then being sucked in

do u not knowhow overflows work as much water being pushed out that is how much water being sucked in. the AC will only be sucking up the water in the overflow
i still have to drill the output hole but i am going to save that till all the parts come just to be safe

Dude, Brian that looks sweet! I didn't realize this is what you had planned! I gotta see this with everything running! And syndrome, what are you talking about? It will work fine. It is basically like a spuer mini in-tank sump for all of his equipment to go.

What he is saying is you won’t effectively circulate the tank just look at the design in order to effectively use a surface skimmer it would need to be placed around the intake of the filter

your only pulling and returning water from the box not the tank i guess some water would get in there but not enough to efficiently filter and circulate

You dont understand what he is doing. He is having a maxi jet pump water out of the box and back into the tank.

ya i just have not drilled that hole yet because i am waiting for all the stuff to show up and the maxi juet is going right under the retern for my overflow

plus i have not even really gotten to show u wat i am planing on doing because it sonly about 1/4 of the way done
