i have a 5.5 gallon pico wich will be housed by a black bar chromis onced its cycled.

No fish. It's not like you can have fewer crabs or snails to make room for the fish, he needs more tank space overall. Even all by himself it wouldn't be enough.
Have you looked at cleaner shrimp? That might work.

+1^ Although it's pretty clear most responsible people on reefcentral are strongly recommending against subjecting a fish to a 3 gallon tank, you don't need our permission to go get one. If you're looking for an honest recommendation, most would say no fish, or get a bit of a larger tank. Even a 10g tank would be much better than 3. But if you're just looking to find a few stray people to give you the green light to put a fish in a pico tank than that's really not going to help you.
We can't stop anyone from putting a tang in a 10g tank, but nobody who is familiar would recommend it. Ultimately it's your choice what you do. For most of us here, our fish aren't just something pretty to look at, they are true pets just like a cat or dog with lots of personality and we try to give them the best environment we can.

It's not the same question really. An experienced reefer recommended the clown goby in the first thread, op thought it over for like a week and made another thread to confirm their plan. While I disagree with the folks who are suggesting fish for this tank, they are hardly a minority and some of them are names I recognize and respect.

I'll rephrase, I wouldn't put fish in a tank of that size, and I'd certainly disagree with a poster above saying you can fit several.
Also, OP, you are adjusting your clean up crew trying to fit a fish. Hermits, snails etc, they don't really add to the bio load a tank can handle. The only problem you may have is that there isn't enough algae and detritus for them to eat and they die. Your original CUC was fine. Taking the hermits away to add a clown goby really won't work.
I'll stand by my original suggestion in your other post. Look into getting a mini carpet anemone and a pair of sexy shrimp, they are small, and will look great as center pieces in a tank of that size.
If you really insist on getting fish, upgrade to a 10 gallon tank, they are cheap, and the equipment wont' run you much more than what you'll have on that 3 gallon. Any reason you are trying such a small tank?
