3" maxima jumped off rocks and buried itself

I just got a 3" maxima 4 days ago and after a couple of days I placed the maxima higher up on the rocks (14" from 400 watt radium). Last night it jumped off the rocks, or fell (I could see the "foot" attached to the rocks) and buried itself 1/3 way into the aquarium floor substrate.

My question is: 1) It looks happy as a clam on the bottom of the tank. Full mantle extension no gapping etc... Can I leave it there or should it be placed back on the live rock?

2) I have a purple tang that is constantly swimming by the maxima. The maxima responds and retracts the mantle and then immediatly re-extends the mantle. The tang swims by about x2 a minute. Will this stress the clam to death? I'm working on trading the tang, but have haven't had any luck yet.

Thanks

i have 2 max in the sand with a little rock under the sand also with 2-250w Mh and they do great.. usally when they move they are not happy .. IMO

I would not worry about the fish swimming. I have a few fish in my tank and the clams don't close unless the fish touches them. It took a week or two for the clams to stop closing with every little passing shadow.

Thanks, I noticed the tang doesnt touch the clam so hopefully the clam will relax in a few days.
