3 month update

Hey stranger! Good to see you around :)

Is that long spined urchin (in the background of the FragFest pic) the same hitchhiker that was the size of a pencil eraser when you first got your package?

Your tube coral has grown.

What are you feeding your reef?

You got it, that urchin plus the other two were quite small, 2 where with the first part of the package and the smaller one is from the second part. One was hiding yesterday for pic time.

Let's see as far as feeding I've done the following:
Every 3 days ReefNutirition PhytoFeast, drop per gallon
The next day ReefNutrition OysterFeast, drop per gallon
Then the day after that the frozen mix of Oysters, Tuna, Shrimp, crabmeat. about 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch chunk
All your recommendations hehe.
I do the chunk feeding of either Tuna or Shrimp every friday, and Nori about every 4 days, 2 clips 1/3 of a sheet per clip, one high one low.

I'm thinking of alternating between the phytofeast and phytoplan to see if I can add some diversity. Might do the same for the the oysterfeast and zooplan.

Not to hijack my own thread, but any divers out ther (ahem), I'm thinking of learning to dive and go to Florida and do some diving. I've seen 2 schools that are close certified Scuba Diving International and 2 a little further away PADI, any major differences or benefits? Also any suggestions or advice would be good too.

Decided to take the plunge, eh? Excellent! I'll send a PM since scuba training isn't exactly reefkeeping. Unless you're Richard, of course <grin>

Where are you with your 75g tank? Last I heard you were concerned about levelling problems with a carpeted area where you wanted to set it up.

The 75g has been moved to the "Dining Room" area of the kitchen. I just love it in the living room but just couldn't bear thinking of leaks and all the other stuff with water on carpet.

It's actually ready to go except for one small detail. The MH lights worked for about 4 hrs and then decided never to turn on again. I'm shipping the ballast out tonight and hope to have it back next week and then it will be ordering time.

I will have to say the success comes in great part due to The Package. You make it too easy to succeed!
And you make it way to addictive, that's why the move to the 75g.

Well said, SB! I'm ready to begin acquiring a 90g setup for my house. I outgrew my nano tank the day I got part 2 for it!

Now to convince the other half that we NEED a bigger aquarium. Gosh, he's gonna balk because he doesn't want to build another stand  and he doesn't want to buy one either. If I didn't hate shopping so much, I'd probably start looking anyway and surprise him with an early "anniversary" present.

Oooo a 90g, I'm so jealous. My poor house would fall in on itself. The Anniversary idea sounds like a good plan, you could always have it delivered and sneak it in and then play dumb, "Someone broke into our house and left this huge fish tank hehehe.

I want a bigger house so I can have a tank and a wet room or whatever they are called and then have everything plumbed, I can dream.
