3 questions 3 pictures

I am somewhat new to the saltwater hobby. Below are 3 pictures and a question associated with each. If you can be so kind to help me out I would be greatly appreciative.


#1. Is the yellow on the rocks diatoms? Best cure?
I currently have 7 nessarius snails and 2 astrea snails, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 blood red shrimp.



#2. What would that plant looking thing be growing out the right side of my coralline seed rock?


#3. What is the red looking stuff growing off my coralline seed rock that is sitting on the sand?

1. Not diatoms, they're brown and dusty, looks like the beginnings of coralline. My rocks have a similar vibe and it's pretty cool (iridescent under certain lights)

2. Looks like Dictyota, which I found to be a big nuisance for me. I'd remove it very carefully, it breaks easily. Scrub that part of the rock and perhaps reintroduce. You could try culturing it in a separate tank. I made the mistake of letting it grow out a year ago ago.

3. Looks like a gracilaria variety, perhaps Parvispora.

Cool luckly the dictyota is on a small coralline seed rock so should be easy to gently remove. I will keep an eye out to see if it spread anywhere

Thanks for the reply. I am TDY with the army in flight school right now with my wife at home trying to deal with this for me and I am trying to give her some good guidance to take care of my tank until I return home lol.
