3 questions about 6100's

First, how do I tell if I have the extended piece for mounting the stream on the magnet (6080.23) vs. the one that doesn't offer the extended stream angle?

Second, where can I get replacement rubber, silicone etc... bumpers for the magnets? Mine are missing a few and I would rather not stick them on the glass without them. Can I get them at the local hardware store? And I learned the hard way not to get your fingers in between them :eek1:

Third, I know the 6100's are really too strong for my 115 gallon barebottom mixed reef but I got too good of a deal to pass them up. Would I be better off going ahead and buying the 6000 transformers and being able to completely control the flow or just turn the 6100's all the way down? What is the power control off the controller when the streams are turned all the way down on the driver? Would it be all or none, or is it still a percentage of what the total flow is at the setting on the driver.

Thanks!

They are a 3M part, I am pretty sure you can buy them at any place that has feet and felt pads for furniture. Their main purpose is to increase adhesion, they also dampen vibration but they really are not critical. I might have some here, I need to check. I am going to Germany from the 17th-26th and could pick some up.

The controller overrides the driver, you should not set both. You would have to try it but I do suspect it will be too much, my best advice would be to trade someone here, people are always looking to upgrade.

Thanks Roger, but I think I would rather buy the transformers in case I go to an even larger tank later :D

I'll look for the little rubber feet at my local hardware stores and let you know if I can't seem to find any.

I have a 6100 on my 92 AGA corner tank, and by keeping it turned down (and a little behind a big rock :)) I have not had any problems with too much flow, even for my softies and LPS.

Oh, and I have a sand bottom..
