Curious to know if they would all be okay if added together at same time...

I know everyone gets annoyed with all the tang questions but please help me with this one...

I dont know about adding three of them in a tank under 500 gallons. I had some and they worked together to kill the other fish in the tank. When there was nothing left to kill they turned on each other.

On the other hand I have heard some people have several together for years.

I wouldn't say that people get annoyed with tang questions, they get annoyed with the SAME tang questions over and over after it's been answered. LOL ;)

I'll defer my answer here:

Long story short, no it won't work out. Let me rephrase that...no, it PROBABLY won't work out. Whether added at the same time at the same size or not, the tanks not big enough for 3 yellow tangs. You'll have constant aggression and nipped fins.

I have 2 in a 180g for 4 years now.I don't recommend it.These two are the survivors of an original 5.They were all the same size, all eating well, all reasonably fat when I got them.I thought they would school.....instead they seperated and staked out territories in the 60g quarantine tank. After a month only the two are left. They were the toughest most aggressive from the begining. They swim around together now most of the time but they still fight occasionally....resulting in torn fins.I was lucky. How lucky do you feel ?

tank is way to small. Also there is no point to it. They will not stay together. Better to have two other totally different looking fish in there.

Not to be Debbie Downer BUT...why would you even want 3 yellow tangs?

There are so many other really cool looking fish. Try some anthias or something.
