Nice tank Expedition! I love how the xenias are clustered together on the the top. Is that a hammer on the upper right just under the heater? What does your current tank look like?
Thank again.

Kasey,

Since you are actively trying to recruit people to visit your thread, I'll take the bait :p .

That tank is a nice shape. If I was you I would simplify your loop. I would take out all of the ball valves and have your manifold tucked up inside the trim of the tank with only the tips of the returns showing. You could even paint it to match your canopy so it doesn't stand out as much as the white pvc. I don't know what your gph is or the diameter of your plumbing but I would keep your manifold at whatever size it is now (to reduce friction and losses) but size your returns down (eg, to 1/2"). That will still give you a little velocity from each exit and also reduce the amount of pvc you are looking at in your tank. If you want to keep your ability to direct the flow, you can put 45 degree elbows on the ends of your tees but I would still trim them down so they were just barely under the surface of the water. I think you would be fine even without the elbows though - if you can't achieve random turbulence after shooting water into an enclosed box from six different pipes... your problem isn't the direction of the output, it's the amount of output :D . Best of luck.

Thanks for the imput Chad! I'll definitely consider your ideas; I have to move the tank home after this semester, and I would like to spend some time rebuilding my loop. I was thinking about that flex hose (not sure what it's called), that way I could keep the nozzles just at the tip. I am consider removing the T's and replacing with 45 degree T's to pick up more velocity. Thanks again, and I only recruited you cause you know what you're doing. :)

Haha thanks Kasey. I have never used the flex hose before, but from what I've seen, it might be just the ticket. It is smaller diameter, poseable, and black - infact, I might just try and use it in my project.
I look foreward to seeing how it comes along. Best of luck.

Thanks Chad! I cannot wait to tear the loop down to rebuild; I love making good things amazing! I definitely look forward to seeing how your new tank comes along.
