30 gallon nano build...from scratch!

Very nice  ...That's a unique idea regarding the sand outside the aquarium wall. I'd be concerned with keeping the surrounding area clean, especially in such a nice living room, but it's really a neat theme.

Thank you. I think if I'm very careful when adding livestock and keep my hands out of tank as much as possible, it should be fairly easy to keep the tank and surrounding area clean.

I love the whole layout, but I am head over heals with the blue glass as a cover. I can't help but envisioning a whole background with colored glass! Think of the design options!

I actually contemplated a full back side with this stained glass option, but it was not the look I was going for so I opted just for covering the overflow box. However, if I make another slightly smaller tank, I will try it as a full background.

Dude the tank is looking amazing well done love the sand too.

Thanks guys! Spent 3 hours fixing a small leak in the return plumbing leading into the overflow box. Two trips to the hardware store and a third to the LFS. Thought at first it was just a need for more Teflon tape...still leaked....then replaced the rubber gaskets....still leaked....finally discovered that it was a cracked bulkhead!
I love the initial plumbing set up, but fixing leaks is so frustrating!

I love that stand. Any chance you can help me make one for my tank of the same size? (If you remember you saw it at my apt in Plaza).

PM me with thoughts and requirements.

sean, just came across this. amazing as usual. wish i was still in kc so i could get my next stand from you ;)

Hi Roni. Good to hear from you. If you ever make it back to town, I'd be happy to build you a super nice custom stand!
This nano has cycled and I've added a few small SPS frags, a couple of small LPS frags, and a few small zoanthid frags.
I just added my Vortech MP10ES last night which kicked up quite a bit of detritus and sand, so the tank is a bit cloudy. I'll post a few new pics when it looks presentable again.
Thanks again for the interest.
Sean
