Just bought a redsea 130 for 70$. The owner completly lost control over it and the tank badly crashed. I want this tank to be lps dominated. I will be replacing the powercompacts for leds and will be adding a refugium. I have no clue what fish to stock it with. I'd love to have a fish that really stands out. I dont want more than 4 fish in total.
Thanks for the help

When you say stands out, are we talking about a fish that's rare or just colorful?

If you want a little bit of both, you can look into helfrichi firefish (or purple firefish if you just want color). Jawfish are super cute if you have a deep enough substrate. A pair of clownfish is always cool. If you want something unique and don't plan on keeping small invertebrates, you can look into a leafish. Their mouths are smaller than other scorpionfish.

Thanks for the help I will definitely consider them. When I was saying stand out I ment a fish with personality and colour (and bigger than the rest). Like the king of the tank with all its helpers haha

Fourline wrasse
Midas blenny
Flame hawkfish
Cool designer clown

That list gives you some interesting shapes and colors, plus different personalities (swimmers, perchers, hoppers, etc.)

Those are the four I'd get...

In my 30g i have a Valentini puffer, lots of personality, different looking, cute. She does not bother my lps or softies. She does nibble the tips of birdsnest. I only put frags from my main tank in ther until I go a feel for her behavior. I also have an orchid dottyback with her for more color.

In the 16 years that the 30g was my main tank, the best combination was one ocelaris clown, flame hawk, and cherub angel. Those 3 were happy together for over 7 years. None of them bother corals. For a couple years of the time I also had a pearly jawfish with them. Also a good combination, but when it disappeared I never replaced it.

A 30 gallon is a bit small for Cirrhilabrus and Paracheilinus wrasses. Pseudocheilinus wrasses seem to become aggressive over time so I would avoid them as well, especially in a 30. I would stick to Wetmorella or Pseudocheilinops ataenia.
In a 30 I would personally do;
Pseudocheilinops ataenia pair
Liopropoma rubre or carmabi
Amblyeleotris randalli

I am leaning fowards
-a wrasse of some sort
-blenny or jawfish
-my clown from my old tank
-gobie or firefish
Would that work and what type of each?
Thank you
