30" tall tank lighting

I have a 48 gallon, 30" tall tank. At the moment I have a 150W Sunpod HQI and I realize this is inadequate for how tall my tank is... Right now I only have softies in the tank, however I am itching to begin keeping SPS corals.

Does anyone have recommendations on what kind of light I should upgrade to? The width of my tank is only 20". I am considering the 250W Sunpod as of now... I would just like to see what other people suggest.

here's pictures of the tank and the light

Ah yes, the same tank I have :) Your rock work doesn't go high enough for you to keep SPS under that 150w, you're right. You are in 250/400w territory. I run a 250w with 4xT5 over mine, my rock work is tall pillars and my SPS is within 10" of the fixture - you wouldn't see much PAR benefit from T5's since it doesn't penetrate as deeply as a halide. It looks like your SPS would be 20+" deep, a 250w should be sufficient but you could run a 400w as well.
