that company makes some nice tubs, do they feel as strong as the rubbermaid ones?

they are the same as far as I can tell very tough/sturdy ...

I like your surface skimmer what did you use to cut the slot in the pvc?

here are some new pics it has cleared up nicely still need to move rock/corals around
where I want them.....

that looks REALLY nice! I'm looking forward to getting one setup soon.

For the slit in the PVC I used a dremel, did it by hand so it's not perfectly straight but you can't tell once the water flows over it.

does anyone know how well the tunze controllable pumps attach to these tubs? I was thinking of having one or 2 on each end and have it setup to do gyre flow, switching direction @ 15 min. intervals. I think the shape of the tub would be perfect for it.

going great have some new fish and critters coming this morning will take plenty of photos today and post very soon.........

also I am adding a lumenarc reflectors if they ever get here they were suppose to be here already but oh well.

and am doing research on bubble king skimmers am thing of buying the supermarin 300 but want to make sure its worth the hefty price tag.......

just got these new guys today seem to be settling in quickly

carpet settled in quick still just a little stressed but has its foot planted and already being hosted by the saddles I was extremely happy to see that happen that quickly..

very cool, looks like you've got some happy clowns :)

are you still going to do the light mover or just have stationary lumenarcs now? also what wattage?

I think I'm going to go with the 150g tub from the same manufacturer. I like their design better than the rubbermaid ones. I hope they are as strong (I imagine they should be since they are made of the same material and used for the same purpose).

Did you replace the factory bulkhead or is it fine the way it is? I know with the rubbermaid ones people replace them because they leak.

Can you take another full topdown shot?

I had to replace it it wasn't going to work with the original bulk head type..

I had to open it up the hole a little with a dremel very easy..

its amazing all the fish come right up to the front when they see me .....

I will get some new updated pics of the whole tank when I get the new fixture it should have been here already I think I am just going to go with 2 400 watt mh
and a few t5 for actinic blue

that is awesome, one of the great benefits of a lookdown tank!

for the bulkhead, is that a 1/2" or 1"?

do you notice any bowing of the tub? one concern would be if the bowing got bad enough, it could cause a bad seal with a bulkhead and a leak could result. I don't know if that's possible just thinking off the top of my head.

it was a 1" bulkhead I believe..

very very minor bowing the only reason I noticed is because the dursos in the back are now touching the wall but like I said minor very heavy duty stock tanks none of the bulkheads leaked just make sure you put them on the flat surfaces and you will be fine..

also I am going to be running a exhaust fan to the outside to eliminate some of the moisture.. my brothers a electrician so that is a easy project...

do you have any concerns about carpet divers? Or do you have a plexi/screen cover for these when your not around?

Sorry to be the pessimist... but I have had a couple carpet divers since I went open top and not fun to find them shriveled on the floor in the morning....

yeah some of those fish look like they've been with you for a long time... given the size of that tank they must be HUGE. When I set up mine I'm going to put a screen over it unless I'm looking at it, then I'll just take it off.

Great project and tank! I am going to get the rubbermaid 300g stock tank for my FO setup. How do you like it so far? Being only able to see the fish from the top and not that clearly? Maybe I missed it, but what is the dimensions on this tank? Mine will be 63"x69"x25". Can we get a stock list and the size of each fish? I just want to get a comparison for when I setup my tank since I will be having some big angels, tangs, triggers and eels, thanks! Keep us updated! Especially with pics!

I just saw the rubbermaid 300g tank today at tractor supply, that thing is huge. I ended up getting a 150 and 100 for about $200 total.
