I have used this site for many years without ever posting anything, never have been much of a forum poster. I currently have just completed a large soft coral change out of a 300 gallon soft coral tank and thought I would post some pictures.

Setup

Well the tank is run with 2 waveline DC pumps feeding into the 6 return lines coming into the one piece euro brace off the back. I have been running the STORM unit on my old tank for about 1.5 years now and would never change my ato to anything else, all I have to say is it just works!!! I will be adding the RENEW unit to the system over the next few weeks so everything will be virtually automated. My controller is a RKE and basically does the heaters and lighting schedule and a few other pumps and floats. I do not check water perameters very often only when something looks off. Sump is basically a refugium section with DSB and lots of pods. I run 2 4" filter socks all the time and change them out once a day no matter what. 2 Large tunze waveboxes are my only mode of water circulation for the corals as I like a more natural motion and the corals are doing 1000 times better.

I have tried all sorts of lighting from LED, T5, Halide. and find that the color is still the best with the T5's.

I have also tried every coral imaginable and the only corals that I dont find finiky are the softie, and I love the movement of a soft coral reef.

Wow, that sump is full. Aren't you afraid of an overflow should something happen (it looks like it's filled to the very brim in the one photo)?

The Section that is full is the refugium it will never overflow and the other section I have it exact so that if the power goes out water level will be an inch under. When we did the changeout I wanted a safety buffer so we drilled a 1" emergency drain in the top of the sump section which is run to the basement. Just in case hehehehe good eye

I like the 2 islands because when I had 3 territory was a huge problem the fish are more happy I think with 2 but who knows that could change. Thanks for looking

The Uni is pretty nice I was acctually thinking of re homing him due to space however he is pretty happy with the new setup. He stopped growing in my last setup so I hope he starts growing again. Thanks for looking

Yes they are leathers they are colt corals
