wel to ease your mind a little i know chris at midwest. he is a very stand up guy. he will work with you to get the problem resolved if the freight company does not cover the damages. the big problem is that you signed for the aquarium. you should have completly removed all the creating and covering so you could inspect every square inch of the tank. freight drivers dont care if your stuff is broke or not. there just a warm body in the seat. in the end cris will help you to get your dream tank up and running. yo may ned up chiping in a little cask to get it repaired but it dont look like its going to be too hard to repair. as long as the main tank is not dammaged and its only the overflow box its very easy to repair. if the tank is cracked then you might have a little more expense to get it fixed but dont loose all hope. ita acrylic and can be fixed. chris will do what he can to help you where other tank vendors would say you signed for it its your problem.

Like I said in an earlier post Chris has done me well, I was fortunate to be dealing with him.

thanks for asking! The tank is up and RO is going into it a 60 g a day. I will try and post some pics tomorrow.

As I posted in another thread, I am looking for a new skimmer for this 300g. I have about a $1000 budget and was considering an Octopus, but with al the skimmer threads it is hard to decide. What would YOU do?

I was looking at the ap1003 but my budget needs to go elsewere, lighting, sumps, stand, etc so im going for two of the smaller skimmers for now.

Next year or so, it will be AP1003, lol.

First chance I have had to post my progress. So here it goes. I got the tank installed with the plumbing, pump, sump and Octopus 300 recirculating skimmer.

thats the skimmer i want, i'm leaning towards 2 of them, have you had a chance to run it yet, hows the quality?.

where did you purchase it from.

I am in the process of ordering a custom made skimmer with a dart NW pump. The skimmer should do a 600 gal system with ease.the price is very resonable. For what you pay for the octopus give a little bit more money and you can gat a much better skimmer

Forgive me if I sound a bit too critical, but since the size of this tank has increased, are the little white doors and surrounding woodwork really necessary? Isn't this a good time to rethink the whole wall as far as interior decorating goes. I mean the utility of that wall as a book case is pretty much shot don't you think? Just my .02.

Good luck

I bought it from Aquacave and have ran it for leaks. I had a couple of small leaks from different fittings, which just required a little tightening and one a new gasket. It really does a great job. It is hard to tell just running it with RO and vinegar. But I am very pleased with it.

I would of liked to get bigger and better skimmers but with all the hype and confusing posts it is really hard to tell what is great and just okay. No one local builds them and not up to it yet but I feel I probably will in the next year or so.
