How did you make the reflector?

Thanks amy.... I used a ductwork program to create the square to round transition the same size as a lumenarc mini... the pattern was then cut out of polished stainless using a computer controlled plasma cutter (kind of like a old style large format cad plotter not an enclosed cnc machine) then bent in a hydraulic press from the computer specs and spot welded..... pretty much all computer done....

Great progress Scott! Looks like you have mastered glass drilling!

The stand is coming along nicely. Will you be running a sump? Have you found one that will fit in your stand or will you have a custom one built?

Yes I am planning on running a sump...... there is room in the stand for a 10G that I pla to convert to a sump.... the skimmer fits well in a 10G with room for a return section and maybe even a SMALL refugium if I plan it right..... still not sure I want to do a fuge though..... you didn't do one in yours did you?

I just floated some chaeto in my old sump. When I upgraded my skimmer, there was no space anymore to grow chaeto.

so what are you doing now? zeo? or just trying to make up for the lost benefits of the refugium through supllements and such?

I'm dosing vodka and I had to stop chaeto since it started dying due to the low nutrients in the water, with it competing with the bacteria.

When I wasn't dosing vodka, it grew really fast under cheap flourescent bulbs from Lowes. I was running the fuge light opposite that of my tank light.
