3110/2 skimmate

I have a commline 3110/2 in the 1st chamber of my sump, it is mounted so the box section is 1cm above the water level, the skimmate is watery and mid green, how do I tweak it to obtain dry skimmate. I collect about 2/3rds collection cup every other day.

You might raise it .5-1cm more and start their, You can then procede to close the venturi in quarter turn increments waiting 2-3 days to see the result These skimmers do produce a watery skimmate compared to others I would expect a tea colored skimmate, green indicates a lot of algaes or feeding of algae foods.

I will give it a go thanks, Actually I feed phytoplankton every night, will this skimmer remove all the phyto , am I infact wasting my time and money in feeding this product whilst using the protein skimmer..

It should not remove living phyto but if it is dead then yes. It works on a diffusion gradient so mobile life forms should be able to escape but a dead or broken cell would be removed.

Roger out of a matter of interest, whats the max height the " box " can be raised out of the water..
