Hello,
I am setting up a new 312 Gal. (96" X 30" X 25") Reef tank and someone referred me to you to determine which Tunze system would work the best for me. My tank has 3 overflows (1 in each back corner and 1 in the center of the back panel). My filtration system will be a Lifereef Berlin Style with approx. 53 Gal. sump (48" X 16" X 16") and includes one of Jeff's 30" skimmers and an Iwaki MD70 style return pump @ approx. 1500 gph. I was considering using the SCWD's on my returns. I will also be using LR and LS as my biological filtration. Could you please give me guidance on which of your systems will best work in my tank. I was considering the Multicontroller with 4 Streams but someone said I made need to only start out with 2 streams. If I do that can I always add 2 more of the 6100 with the Multicontroller later in need be.

I would just like to have your professional advice and guidance. I want the best possible system I can afford.

Thanks for your help,
Bryant

I don't know how long you have until you need pumps. I have been testing the new Stream 6200 and it may be the best choice. It does 5200gph. The outlet has been enlarged from 2" to 2.5". As a result the flow disperses very wide. The flow carries about the same distance as the 6100- 6-7ft. It spreads out though to roughly 30" Two of these would be perfect. They will likely cost around $380 each and I have no firm release date. It has alot of mods over the older Streams to handle the extra power and larger propeller and everything had to be reworked. If you need something ASAP two 6100's would be the place to start.

Physically it is the same size but it use 65watts, the transformer is larger, the prop is larger, the elctronics are modified to carry more current and the drive unit has been changed a bit. We also added a screw to clamp the pump down in position.

Roger,
Jeff at Lifereef will not have my filtration/skimmer system built until the middle of March. Do you think the new 6200's will be available by that time? If so I would prefer to wait for the 6200's. It sounds like they will be the perfect choice for my 30" wide tank. It is 96"L X 30"W X 25"T.
Thanks again,
Bryant

I would think so, but one thing I have learned about these things is nothing ever happens on schedule- things are always late. Supposedly it will be out early next year.

Roger,
I think I will take my chances and wait on the 6200's. It sounds like they will better accomidate my tank. Is this somethong I can purchase through you? If not, can you recommend a good mail order source for getting Tunze products from?
Thanks again for your help,
Bryant

We don't sell direct but when they are available, Marine Depot, Champion and Premium Aquatics will all offer our product.
