Got it setup yesterday and all was well. Got home today and the fricken alarm started going off. Looks like the damn eye sensor stopped working, leaving the float valve and that annoying alarm!!!:thumbdown

Is this a new Osmolator or one bought used? The optic sensors are pretty thoroughly tested before they leave the factory (3 separate tests), it is a rare failure. Usually a new osmo that overfills is due to bubbles on the sensor or a siphon from improper hose placement. The sticky is out of date. Some more info on the size of your set up and layout (pictures of sensor and reservoir and top off hose install) will all help. The circuit board was changed this year and has some new features.

This is BRAND NEW!There are ZERO bubbles on the return side of my sump where the sensor and float reside! Here is the email I just sent to Tunze!

Okay, here are the problems!!! If I run the fill hose to the tank, your pump WILL NOT PUMP it up there(standard height tank),if I run to the sump it will gravity drain. The controller will also start flashing all red lights after a few minutes!!! I reset it,and after a few minutes, red flashing light again!!!Why didn't you guys just put a low pressure valve to stop the gravity drain, like we do with oil flooding the turbos in a car with the engine off??? Do I just send this thing back for a refund? Extremely Dissatified with your product!

Just rebooted it for the 4th time, and this time it filled to the sensor and stopped, with no gravity drain, and no flashing red lights.Still will not pump to tank!

Prime the pump by tipping it upside down when it turns on, it will generally have an air bubble when set up the first time or any time the reservoir runs empty, the pump can pump up 8ft without issues.

Hi Roger,

I have a brand new Osmolator that is experiencing a very similar issue.

This is not my first osmolator. I have one working on another tank and have never had an issue with it. The new one on the other hand has issues.

The eye is fully submerged and it's continually kicking the pump on until the emergency float is triggered. I also notice that the green LED tends to blink randomly before switching to the "Pump on" LED. My older one does not do this.

The only changes I made were removing the jumper so I don't have to listen to the alarm and turning the pump to high. The other Osmolator has the jumper removed as well, but I don't think it had a pump voltage setting.

Sorry to the OP - I am not trying to hijack here. I think we are having the same issue (sans the pump getting air bound)

The controllers made this year function differently, they have an onboard microprocessor and the display functions have changed. The green light blink is the five second count down to running the pump, your old one did the same thing, but did not blink, however it also required the water measure low for 5 seconds before turning on the pump, we just now have a visual indicator that pumping is about to start.

New optic sensors have always been very prone to interference, it is a brand new piece of plastic, plastic repels water and attracts air, this is the same reason a new skimmer does not work well. It must be seasoned through a few days of use and this can be accelerated by a hot soapy water rinse. The sensor only detects air vs water so a clinging bubble gives the same result as being dry. Your old one would have had the same issue when it was new and this usually subsides after 3-7 days, or a hot soapy water rinse, provided it is in a relatively calm and bubble free area.

Interesting - I will give it a few days in the tank to see what happens. It has only been in water for a few hours.

Thanks!

With the pump ALREADY PUMPING water out of the hose in a stream,I can raise the end up to the top of my tank, and the FLOW STOPS!!! After the reboots last night, got home today and the system seems to be functioning properly like it did when I first hooked it up.The pump is still an issue!
