3155 high level water alarm

This morning I woke up to the high level water level alarm but the float was in the down or closed position. Any idea of why this alarm would go off if the float was not a activated?

As a background - I did set up the 3155 on my 14 gallon all in one nano tank and opted for the electronic eye instead of the nano osmolator.

If the float was not raised, possibilities would be it is upside down, affected by a magnet (it is a magnetic switch) or a snail or some animal activated it. On thinner glass a magnetic interference is highly probable. Are you sure it was the high water alarm (i.e. only the too high red light was on)?

Roger: I moved the controller away from the magnet and it seemed to work. The glass is on the thinner side as well. I tested it a few times and the alarm shut off as it should when the float was down.

Yes it was the high water alarm red light only.

A magnet near the controller can directly actuate the relay, the float circuit is independent so it is a truly redundant system and the relay can be triggered by a magnet and then it overrides the rest of it.
