3161 Heater Compatability

I'm looking forward to the release of the 3161 Comline Filter in September. I see that it is designed to accept an Eheim Jager heater through the hole in the rear part of the lid. I have a Cobalt Aquatics 75w Neo Therm heater with the dimensions of 6 1/2"x2 1/8"x4/5" that based on the dimensions of the 3161 looks like it will fit completely inside the heater chamber. It would be really tidy if it does fit as only the cord would be visible.

I think the 3161 will only accept a mini heater, the small 20W type with no thermostat. It is really small and I know none of the usual 50/75W heaters will work.

The specs state "room for a nano heater or probe" The box is portioned off so the heater chamber is fairly small and the rest is for filter media. I am pretty sure only the small 1/2" diameter preset type heaters will work in it.

It's still going to be great! Oh, on a side note, I just sold my silver Giesemann Nova that I bought from you in 1999 and I'm regretting it now. That thing looked and worked just like new after years heavy use. Changing the 250w DE bulb was always scary as it snapped into place though! I cringed everytime but never broke one.

I remember those, the sockets for 250 DE bulbs are always scary, I have broken them and badly cut myself, more so pulling them out then pushing them in. I was told they had to be that tight because of the amount of current going through them.

Do you have a 3161 on display at MACNA? Any ETA when I can get my hands on one?

I did not get a sample, but the 3161 and 0100 are the next products due out, I expect them within a couple weeks.

Any word from Tunze High Command on the 3161?

Last week I was told that by mid October, the 7000, 3161, Reefpack 100 and Calcium Reactors will be ready, at the end of October, the 6150 will be ready. I am not clear on whether that means I will have them or they will be ready to ship and add another 7-10 days to have them here, but they are close to here.

Searching around the forums regarding the 3161 and came to this thread. Any update on release date? Can't find it anywhere.

Getting back into the hobby and starting up a nano and this seems perfect for what I need.

The last update I got, last week, is that the Calcium Reactors, 3161, 7000 and 6150 are all in production and expected to ship to us by the end of the month.

No, I will check on what the delay is, I honestly expected these about a month ago.
