32 LED Flashlight $13 Group Buy?

Just got this awesome 32 LED flashlight for $13 at the Galt fleamarket. It's bright enough to make my clams open up. Spoke with the guy and he owns a shop in roseville. He says if we buy 8 or more he'll give us wholesale price, which is about $5 off. At $8 a piece you can beat this deal!

He also had a 17 LED for $10, and 64 or was it 72 LED about 2' long for $26.

The 32 seemed like the best deal to me. It even comes with 3 AAA batteries and a carrying case. Here's a couple of pics.

Are they really bright as all get out? Could you ship me two to 46807 in Indiana? I'm in if you can. Thanks, Jeff

put us in for 2 or 3 as well (all depending on how the numbers work out for the group buy).

Our only question would be battery life. Is the 17 LED light significantly easier on the batteries than the 32 ? (seems like they would last twice as long). And is the brightness level between the 2 enough to really want the 32 light one ?

I ask because we have a couple of LED flashlights, and they are harder on the batteries than one might think :)

Either way, put us down for at least 2, preferrably 3, of whichever ones you order :D

I take 2 - 32 if you or someone can ship to me. Please let me know. I'm sure some of us in the Bay Area will want some too.

He only has white leds, but they have a hint of blue to them.

Sorry Freed, I don't think I want to ship right now, I'll let you know if I change my mind.

Sparkss, you know how Americans are, "bigger is better." If the 72 LED wasn't so long I'd buy that. Can you imagine going to the swap, and everybody has their 7-10 LED flashlights and then you pop out your 72? Everybody's going, "Oh yeah, he's hardcore! I wonder what's in his tank?" You're probably right about battery life. Although I wasn't running energizer batteries, it didn't take long, probably an hour of use before I noticed significant loss of brightness. I do have rechargeable batteries, so I'm not really concerned about that.

For now I'm just ordering the 32 LED. I'm going to request that everyone prepay with paypal, just to make life easier for myself. I'll order on Saturday July 22nd, since I'm going to a conference next week, and I'll let everyone know what the final cost is along with my email at that time. Check the spreadsheet to make sure my numbers are right.

Elite, I will be picking up from Xia and periodically make it down to the SJ area, so if you wanted to order, we could pick them up for you and deliver it the next time we are down that way, which we are overdue for a visit to some friends down that way, so likely sooner than later :). Just let me know if you want me to pick them up for you :D

Hi there, you could just throw it in one of the free small USPS boxes with some wadded up newspaper and ship it ground. Would only cost a few dollars and I would be happy to pay for it. Thanks, Jeff

I just checked the spreadsheet. bump our order to 4 (so I can put one into our vehicles also :)).

Elite,
I prefer that you pay Xia directly :)

Xia,
Make sure that your price also reflects the PayPal fees that you will be charged, both for us to do the transfer to you and also for you to take the money out (or transfer to the supplier). Otherwise you will end up being short :)

Is everyone actually using this as a flashlight, or will everyone be mounting it in their canopy or something similar? Just wondering why these are so popular.

Marc,
You're always so generous. :)

Pico1,
Yes, as a flashlight. We have one similar now that we use for "after lights out" tank inspections, or for peering into that dark "cave" just to make sure some hitchiker didn't make it's way into our tank :)
