32W PC or TrueLumen Pro??

I currently have a 32W 50/50 power compact light over my 35gal hex tank. But I'm debating going with the TrueLumen Pro marine fusion lights, 2 - 12" strips.

You can see my livestock in my signature, so my question is = What lighting setup would be best and produce the best light in my tank?

Thanks,

Steve

Any thoughts or opinions from people who have made the swap from PC to LED lighting?

I have a 33 gallon tank with a single 32 watt PC, I have two chalice and some zoa's works fine. I also upgraded to Dual 75 watt VHO lights more than enough light. I have the Current Led strip light but only for a night light.

My other concern in light spread.
My current PC bulb has good spread since the light comes out all around the bulb.

How do the LEDs do with spread? These Pro lights have a good number of LEDs, so I'm sure it will be fine............but it's just something I'm thinking about.

I think I have the same size tank. 17 point to point and 15 from flat edge to flat edge. Have you looked into the Kessil thread?

Yeah, point to point is like 18" or so.

I'm looking for a deal on a 54 corner tank, that's about the max for the space allotted to me by the wife........LOL

My aquarium is fairly new (3 months) and is currently FOWLR. For the first couple months I just had a plain old fluorescent fixture over the tank (the kind that takes the light bulbs you find in your closets and stuff). I was interested in beginning the upgrade process, but not plopping down the entire heap of money so I was attracted to the Current USA's modular design.

So....I bought one strip of their marine fusion lights and put them in. They illuminate the aquarium very nicely. I can't comment on how they grow coral. I'll add a few more strips before I make that attempt.

But, I can tell you that there isn't any directional nature to the lighting. It illuminates an aquarium just as uniformly as a fluorescent tube.

And....they're a pretty slick product. The strip is only ~.75 inches wide. They come with simple mounting brackets that worked great in my canopy. And they throw almost no heat.

Steve the 54 gallon corner tanks are difficult to light you almost have to use a pendant, I did look at the True Lumen they look nice, you could just spread them out about 4 to 6''

Yeah, that's the only complaint I've seen from people with corner tanks. It's hard to get good coverage from the lights.

I haven't heard back from the people selling it, but if I can get a great deal on it I'm going to pick it up.

Well the LEDs will be here next week, and I'll be doing some before and after pictures to show the difference.
