33 long lighting input

Would love input on placing a 4 bulb T5 on a 33 long for a low profile sps reef. The tank is 12x12x48, 4 high quality t5s should grow sps just fine in this tank wouldn't they?

Correct, think 20 long but 18 inches longer.

my 34g rsm came with 4 bulb t5 built into hood and it grew sps just fine. it was a little deeper than 12".
i did end up ripping it out though and replacing it with led.

So your dimensions are saying that it's 1 foot square and 4 feet tall?

I would suggest 4) 400 watt MH.....oh and don't forget to let the tank mature for at lest 4 yrs before starting SPS :uzi:

This is a good point. I like the 10 to 14k range with 12 being ideal. Any input on bulbs? I have only used LEDs.

Bulb combos I've ran on 4 bulb setups were 2 blue+ front and back, 2 blue special in the middle. I changed out one blue special with a purple plus and then a coral plus. I ended up going to a 6 bulb fixture for my liking. Then decided to go mh 1-250 phoenix 14k due to cost of bulb replacement and I'm old school.

Agreed .....that is a fixture worth throwing $80 worth of bulbs into every 6-8mo......if you're into that sort of thing LOL

Those are some Great Looking corals though for sure!!! :beer:
