Hello I am hoping for a little help. I am looking to buy my next tank. i have decided I like the 34gal Solana. The reason i have not ordered it already is i want a low iron glass front panel which i can't find now. I know they will have one soon and don't want to but now only to be dissapointed when they come out with the tank I want.

I will also be getting an ecotech MP20, a great light, skimmer and ato. So it will be a decent order ifi ever get to place it. Can you let me know what it would take to make this a reality?

Thanks a bunch.

I meant to say that I don't want to buy now only to be dissapointed when the better tank comes out.
It is enough to make me look at the Elos mini I only wish it was a 34 gallon cube as well. And not almost 2000$ with only a few add ons.

I just wanted to say to whoever replys to this thread that I appreciate anything you can do for me in this matter.

I did contact current about this. The lady I talked to was almost rude about not having it and not knowing when, I don't know maybe she has heard about it one too many times.

I chose this forum to talk about it as there is no current forum at the moment and I thought other people could voice their opinions as well. Also, consider this me ordering this from marine depot as long as we agree on a price first. Which can be done privately.

To be clear the upgrades that I am asking for are for at least the front pane to be SF or HC or low iron or whatever you want to call it glass. Also I would like to have the top piece be made out of the same stuff so as to impact lighting the least. I plan to use the top as I like to keep fish that have been known to jump.

A few other suggestions would be to offer a skimmerless model a little cheaper for those who plan to buy a better one. Another wish would be to have a smooth back, I have read in researching for a tank that the back has a texture that makes cleaning a pain if not impossible. I plan to have a false back made so I can take it out and clean it. If the back was a smooth black piece I wouldn't have to.

Again thank you for helping if you can and, Happy New Year!!!:celeb1: :celeb3:  :celeb1:  :smokin:

Hello,

Thanks for your post, unfortunately I have not heard of Current USA manufacturing a "low iron glass" for the Solana aquariums. I also not aware of any other manufacturer, manufacturing that type of glass.

The models we carry are the latest models available to date. Inventory does change from time to time with out notice, it is usually best to check out our Website from time to time for the latest and greatest.

As far as they Solana's we currently carry, These aquariums come as you see them on our Website, we are unable to modify or customize the kits. The Solana tanks are dropped shipped directly from Current-Usa They normally ship with in 3-5 business days.

I hope this information helps

Not trying to hijack your thread Saiyan, but I've got a Solana question or two that might relate to your question.

I notice on the Marine Depot website the term "super brite", but no explaination (item CU80028). Is that a super brite glass of some sort?

Also, What the difference (other than color) in these two Solanas:
CU80027 and CU80016? I must be overlooking something, otherwise I'd order espresso and save 170 bucks.

thanks-

avp

We just received this up date regarding your inquiry about the Solana tanks.
"SuperBrite/Low Iron Glass is the same as Starphire Glass. Starphire Glass is manufactured by PPG and they own the rights to the trademark name "Starphire." Unless you purchase the glass from them here in the USA, you cannot use their name. Since we purchase the glass in China, we cannot call them "Starphire." Sometimes the glass is called SuperBrite - I usually refer to it Low Iron like Elos does."
