340 A.G.E. Tank Build!!!!!

Wow its been a month already since my last update. OK OK, its long overdue

This weekend was a busy one. And the day has finally come, the tank has saltwater in it!

slow and steady right now, ordered lights today for it. And still alot more things to do yet.

But hey, here are some teasers.

Here is the full tank. I want to take a second and point out the left side of the tank. It will have a cabinet built around it, and for sake of viewing, I didn't want to be able to see through the front and see inside the cabinet, but at the same time I want to be able to see through the cabinet into the tank (look for fish and such, fallen frags, ect.)

Solution, was static cling window film in 5 percent smoke. From the front, looks like a black wall, on the other side, dimmed tank. It worked out better than I could have imagined.

Here are updated pics of the sump, with the live rock chamber originally built to house rubble. And the mangrove lagoon that will house 40 or so mangroves. Also doubles as sand filtration, hopefully.

Here is a pic of the overflow bulkhead. This is a safety in the event of a sump overflow. As stated above in my thread, there is a drain line under the stand that is hooked into the sewer line in my house. This bulkhead is plumbed into that drain. This will prevent the sump from over filling, and drain excess water far far away from the floor, and out of the house.

Ok overdue for some updates. I will take some tank pics in a bit when I get home. But I finished setting up my RODI the other day and thought I would post some pics of it

Sweet planning, Ed. I'll have to hire your services when I get my tank up.

Hum sounds like someone has the itch for a tank again!!!

Ok, I have been told I am long overdue for an update, so here it is.

The tank was filled few months back, and with the help of some friends finally got some rock in the tank.

I have about 300lbs left that is currently curing. But all is well so far, skimmer is running, and fish are happy!

I began some of the woodworking on the stand, and hopefully will have that knocked out a few weeks from now.

Until then.....

Nice updates, Ed. I'll have to come over and see it in person some time. You plan on putting mangroves in that fuge? (looks pretty deep)
