34g SPS top down

Getting ready to make some changes with coral placement, so thought I would show it before doing so.

Hi Shaun,
Do you know what the blue/beige coral is in the first picture towards the back of your tank. I don't see it in your most recent pics. Looks like an echinata?

Glad I found this thread. After the holidays I'm going to move out of my nano cube 28 and into a Solana 34 Superbrite. This tank is awesome and it gives me some inspiration. It has me considering going bare bottom for one. I'm getting tired of sand and sediment issues with the MP10.

Keep up the good work!

Middle of the back wall. Right above the blue clam and the back puck of your LED. 2nd from the left.

My best guess is Acropora vermiculata. It looks like tenuis but lacks the flat tips.

I have a blue and green tenuis in the tank, and this looks nothing like it.

Thanks! Glad to have inspired you :)

I understand u trim back ur xenias, but don't they still irritate the sps'..? or is it because the sps are large enough to handle it, while smaller frags would probably die? amazing tank and i only ask because i'd like to try something similar one day.

This spp of xenia does not seem to bother the sps at all. I have some tiny frags encircled by this xenia and the frags are growing/doing very well. I believe it's red sea xenia as it is very small stalked and white/cream in color. I also have cespitularia in this tank too and it leaves the sps alone as well.

I have a ton of flow (Koralia 6) alternating in the tank and this my be why the xenia does not bother the sps as it is continually moving/swaying.

Your tank is incredible! How is it doing? Still liking the AI Sol Blue?. You mentioned you rarely do water changes, how "rarely" is that?

Thanks ganjero! My tank is still doing very well. I have cleaned up my 125g and moved some of my sps and clams over to it as they are growing rapidly and I/they needed space...

Still loving my AI Sol Blue. I still am running it at 100% for 11hrs/day. It work very well for my needs.

My last water change was 5 months and counting... It works for me and my corals/clams are doing very well.
