34gal Okay for Carpet Anemone?

I was thinking of adding a RBTA to my 34gal Solana, but I would really like a blue or purple carpet anemone. I don't think lighting will be an issue because I'm running a MH, but I'm wondering if space is an issue (tank too small?). Does a carpet take up more space than a RBTA typically?

Yes it takes up more space but the space is predominantly the rock sand interface and on up. A 34 with stable parameters would be good for haddoni. If you want Gigantea probably not going to work.

I tried it and it didn't work had to move the anemone into my bigger tank.

It depends on the 'nem's size. I had a carpet that was 12" across and now I have a RBTA that is 8" across and growing. Likewise, you can buy carpets and RBTA's in the smaller sizes.

See if you can buy a smaller carpet or RBTA and enjoy watching it grow out. And hopefully your RBTA will split at some point so you can sell the clone and make your $$ back
