35 gallon hex flow

Hey guys,

so I'm thinking about using my old 35 gallon hex on my desk at work. I know that hex tanks aren't the greatest for saltwater due to the small surface area but I don't have a lot real estate on my desk and its just collecting dust in my basement.

I'm looking to do this fairly cheap but wanted to get some input on flow. I plan to do sand and rock for the main filter, no skimmer and I'll be doing water changes every week.

I was thinking this for the light https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/za-1...smpuKt7ClQtCD9fE2ijafS5CJmyhc6exoCgu4QAvD_BwE since I plan on doing only softies and zoas for corals

For flow I was thinking of 2 maxi-jet 160s one towards the top of the tank pointed one direction to push water in a circular motion around the tank and then another lower in the tank facing the opposite direction to create turbulent flow. I believe the 160s produce 500gph or maybe it's the 140s...so with the 2 that would give me 1000gph which is roughly 28x turn over.

Is this enough flow?
are there any other suggestions for flow in a hex?
should I just blast the rock with the powerheads and not worry about the circular flow?

TIA

When I had my hex I ran 2 smaller power heads and a hang on back filter. The powerheads were probably 60 or 70% down, on top of one another, but facing the other direction and pointed up slightly. This was the only way I could remove dead spots and algae build ups
