350 gal cube 2.5 years set up update

Just quick update. Been awhile since i posted anything. Tank is about 3.5 years old now. As usual struggling with city water quality and keeping up with alkalinity. Probably time to spring for some new bulbs as well. But, seem to be making progress with water quality and the tank is looking pretty good here last couple of weeks. Here is a center tank shot.

Here is the left side of the tank. Yes, that is a piece of the Steve Tyree soli growing on the out flow.

Here are two from the right side.

No Carbon, no suplimental feeding of corals. Calcium Chloride and sodium bicarb along with a Ca reactor going full force to try to maintain ca and alk levels. Feeding per day as follows. One third sheet of sushi wrap per day. Gone in about 3 minutes and a walnut size piece of frozen fresh squid hand fed to the copperband. The Angels snatch their share of that. 30 gallon per week at least in water changes using instant ocean aged at least 12 hours with agitation after mix. Thats it. No other food. No suppliments. Most pieces in this tank i had before i set it up. Some are over ten years old. One of the carpets was an aniversery gift from my wife in 1995. All of the fish are over 5 years old with the exception of the golden angel. Secret to keeping copper band long term is hand feeding with fresh fozen squid or clams. He has been hand fed every day for bout 5 years. Secret to the powder blue, Koli, yellow and purple tank in same tank with each other is daily feeding with greens, ozoneo eliminate ich and large square tank. Used ozone for first couple of years to eliminate ich but dont run it anymore as there havent been any new fish added in years. Pretty simple. Low tech. Lasts long time.

Really great grouping of fish! Great corals! Awesome tank!!!

Still have the blue stripped rabbit? Mine was coral eating clam nipping bastage had to give him away. Beautiful fish though! And an Algae trash can!!!

Are you using a RO/DI unit for top off and water changes? I noticed you saying you're still dealing with city water quality.

Great looking tank! I love the angels cruising around, very natural looking.

Yes RO and Deionization along with carbon on new water. Go through resin like popcorn. Have replaced some plumbing lately. Perhaps the old lines were contributing to the problem. The quality of the new water seems to have improved with new plumbing. The coral health /growth trend is back in the right direction. Will take some time to see. Only bad things happen fast in a reeef tank. Improvements take a long time.
