36 gal tank

Hey guys,

so i just recently bought a 36 gal bow front aquarium

i currently own a 20 gal aquarium that have been running for about 8 months so ill be moving all my stuff in a bit

a i have a question before i move all my stuff.

The 36 gal tank had a brace at the top. its so flimsy plastic and its right in the middle. i was wondering if you can cut this top brace there is one at the bottom as well.

the reason im asking bc its right in the middle and im using a hang on the back MH light. So the brace is in the way.

anyways anyone know if i can cut this brace when there is still one in the bottom or will it break my tank?

I would say if it's a newer tank it would be okay

I would say no. If that brace is there it is there for a reason.
Does it really cast that much of a shadow?

i havnt tried yet witht the light but its a sigle MH light so if its placed right in the middle it will me right in the wayt of the brace
