360g (72x42x27) - Austin TX (SPS dominated)

It's not the right side that's too bulky, it's the middle. Move the middle bulk to the right side and make the centre taller and thinner.

Thanks Dave. Only issue that I have with the middle is how to cover up the CL drain. It is 4" off the bottom of the tank. Maybe I'll drop the anemone rock down to the sand and see if that helps.

A couple of pictures now that I have mounted the corals and re-arranged some things.

A couple of updated SPS shots. Alk has been very steady. PO4 crept up a bit (I turned the valve on the frag tank to feed and forgot to turn it back on) and I've got a bit of algae (due to feedings, etc) but otherwise things are going pretty well. Angel has been doing well. Need to get the QT started again and get a few more fish in the tank.

A little blurry but you can see the color:

Very nice man! The Acros are looking healthier than when they came in. Awesome work.

Thanks. Getting some good color lately. PO4 crept up a bit and had some STN but otherwise things are growing well. Now to add some more fish.

Hi Chris,

some nice Acros you got in there.
So, you are using the ATI 250i powercone skimmer on your tank? Satisfied?
I am building a 300 gal SPS tank, and some colleagues think that 250i would not be sufficient. I'd love to hear about your experience.

Hi Marko
Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. I am still using the powercone. I really like it. It is very stable and pulls out a lot of junk, especially when the pump is clean. No doubt it can handle a 300g SPS tank.

Need to update this thread a bit.

I added a pair of AI Vegas to the side of the ATi fixture. I feel that the ATi fixture would have been fine, but since I have SPS near the sides of the tank, I felt like there needed to be some supplemental lighting.

Fish seem to be doing very well. 1 yellow tang is getting bullied, but I suspect more food will help the agression

Got some new frags and am letting them acclimate.

Started Nitrate Dosing to try and help drive down the PO4 in the tank a bit. I feel as though my tank is a bit NO3 limited, so by adding KNO3 (potassium nitrate) I believe this will help lower the PO4 in addition. Time will tell.

Looks very much like a pinky the bear that I had a number of years ago
