Hi André, your work and your tank is an absolute inspiration. I don't currently own a reef tank, but seeing your ability to make these incredible unifying compositions has me craving to try for myself!
I've read your articles on aquascaping and am keen to try for myself on a 48 x 24 x 24.
A few questions for you:
1) How do you keep your back glass so pristine? I'm considering a removable black acrylic screen mounted on my return bulkheads. The idea is that it will cover the external overflow as well as making cleaning a little easier. What do you think?
2) Your article mentions laying out all your rock on the floor and choosing the pieces that fit well together. Do you always have enough rock to make this puzzle work? Is it worth chiselling a few of the bigger pieces to get the shapes you want?
3) Do you choose species of coral/fish that specifically match the scale of the tank? As in, your SPS all seem to be of a much denser and smaller branching variety, as well as smaller fish. How do you know which SPS will behave like this, or do you prune them a specific way?

4) Will 48 x 24 by enough front-to-back to create real depth with the "bleacher effect" or should I up it to 48 x 30... What dimensions were the tank you scaped in the article here:
http://www.bioaquaria.com/?p=819? I've got the space I guess, but I expect 5 or 6 inches will already be taken up by the external overflow meaning the tank will actually be pushed out by 3ft!
