36G - A small measure of Reef

Andre,

Your system is very much like mine. How high over the water is your light fixture? Are they at 100%?

Hello,

Nice. I like the motion at the surface. When the corals fill out it's going to look like a candy machine.

I also like how you picked a fish that didn't have eye popping color. Granted Convicts get some size, but the lack of color really draws your attention to the corals.

Curious, thanks. I too think it´s a little bit of a candy machine right now. It´s not all that bad but I do hope it turns out to be a more natural piece of reef than something that is man made. Things have to grow, I guess. Thanks for posting.

The fixture ir about 6 inches above the water and the lights are at 100% with 9 hours turned on.

André

Beautiful photos. What lens are you using?

Thanks. I´m using a Canon 400D with EFS 18-55 mm lens.

Not using a macro lens?? Just your walk around lens.....wow. Makes me realize I need to practice more. What settings?

Some pictures have been taken with a macro lens ( Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM), yes. These last ones were taken with a Canon EFS 18-55mm standard lens. The settings depends on the subject but usually it´s something like:

- Manual mode ( always)
- Aperture: f/2.8 to f/5.6
- Speed: 1/60 to 1/125
- ISO: 200 ( always)

Tangs will be transferred to a bigger tank when they grow out. Right now, they are fattening. :)

Thanks for watching,

Really nice Andre'. I have seen your name around here on a number of different posts. Very artistic approach, very appealing. Even the bare rock in the tank makes a nice display..

I really appreciate the kind comment Neil. The tank is still young. I hope to achieve something in the manner you described.

Beautiful tank! Thanks for keeping us updated!

Adrienne, thank you.
