Hi,

I'm in the process of designing a 36L" x 41"W x 24"H 150 gal mixed reef. I'm planning on having a small return pump (around 400gph) from my sump, so I plan on having almost all of the in tank circulation provided by Tunze Streams. I'm having a glass partition put in on the rear 36" back side of the aquarium with holes drilled in it to hid the Tunze stream pumps. All of the Tunze Stream pumps will be mounted via magnets behind the glass partition on the 36" back wall and will have to blow straight from the back side of the aquarium to the front. They will not be able to be angled. Here are my questions:

How many and what size Stream pumps would you recommend?

Where would you recommend I located the Streams on the back wall taking into consideration that they will not be able to be relocated or angled since holes are being drilled for them?

I cannot be responsible if it doesn't work, I really don't recommend any sort of permanent install. I cannot see the sense in sacrificing so much real estate to a partition vs just what the pumps themselves would take up. I really think this is a bad idea, you lose space, the ability to adjust the pumps and restrict what sort of layouts you can chose in the future. If you are intent on it, I suggest 3 Stream 6000's 1ft apart and about 8" from the water surface.

Thanks for the recommendation Roger. You brought up allot of good points that I had not considered. I think I will scrap the partition idea. Losing all the adjustability just is not worth it.
