Received in Thursday from LA. Treatment start at Saturday, but until today, I found it still deflation about 2-3 times a day, one after night out, two in day time, each time last about 1-2 hours, then back to health normal looking. During each deflation, a lot of rat poop kind of waste coming out. Is it normal? I does half 250mg Ciprofloxacin in a 2.5G TT once a day, after 100% water change from DT and light out.

These two are when it looks good around 12:00PM yesterday

Then it start pooping, around 1:30-3:00, so it last about 1-2 hours, then back to normal sharp until after light off.

Looks like its expelling zooxanthellae to me. What type of light do you have and how far is it from the water? Whats your light cycle? Also it could be stressing from bad water quality. 2.5 gallon is a very small tank. I think would get nasty pretty quick with a sick Nem expelling so much waste. I'd get a 10 or 20 gal tank and use min of 10 gallons of water. also your cipro is a bit higher then I have ever run. 125mg should be for 5 gal of water not 2.5. This could be a possibly cause for the gig to expel its zooxanthellae. If you cant get a bigger tank I would do 2 3 4 water changes a day and reduce cipro to 1/4 pill.

Make sure you keep the temp stable. Very stressful for anemone if the temp keep on boucing around or stay too cold.
I find that cheap heater will not do well in these small tanks.
Heater/controler is the most expensive part of my treatment tank.

make 100% water change in noon and add another 1/3 pill of cipro. It looks good before and after water change

He looks pretty good. Make sure you suck out any discharge and change at least 50% of the water everyday.Try to add water and medication as the light turn out for the day. I often suck out any solid waste, with minimal water removal, with a pipet as I see it during the day and not replace the water until I do the water change.

i will do another water change tonight before night out, and another one tomorrow morning before i leave my house. Because it is a small tank, i think it is better to do 100% water change?

the anemone looks much better now, and attach to tank through a 1" PVC... So took me sometime to remove the PVC. And I did another 100% water change but can't wash tank since the anemone attach to tank now.and add another antibiotic after light out.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1380079811.892242.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1380079837.196869.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1380079866.888726.jpgView attachment 246894ImageUploadedByTapatalk1380079915.266216.jpg

Looks good. If it expels more "rat poop" use a turkey baster to suck it up before it has a chance to break down and foul the water. Make sure you continue treatment, even if the gig continues to improve -- go at least 5 days, 7 days is ideal. It's a lot of work to do the nightly water changes, but well worth it in the long run. Great job!

Good job with this! I recently did the same regiment on a Mag and it took the first four days or so for it to start looking better, but once it did it never looked back. Thanks for taking care of this anemone.

Do another 100% water change and turn light on this morning, add also another 1/2 pill. No deflation for one full day now, and much less "rat poops" too, I will continue does antibiotic for 3 more days .

It has just completed its 7 days treatment, tonight i move it down to my refugium, for better water quality and better lighting(70W led strip) and everything look good and it even take a small krill right away. I will watch close for next week.

The nem looks good -- posture is great since it's sitting up nicely. Mouth is a little open, but that's fine. Glad to see it made it through treatment!
