3rd week of tank cycle and wondering about zoas

Any specific type of zoa that's recommended for beginners? I was also wanting to get an anemone for future clownfish as well

from my personal experience, zoas have been an easier coral across the board, so i think youd be fine with whatever zoas you find at your lfs

Thanks i want some that grow fairly quick and take over an area of my aqua scape for visiual purposes. Something that how vibrant colors

Most of the fairly common zoas grow really well and quickly.

I had to set up my tank from scratch after remodeling my house. I had my tank's inhabitants in a temporary holding tank. Had to take the DT tank down due to remodeling.

To make a long story short, zoas did just fine. I wish I could say that about my other corals. You should be able to introduce zoas now and be fine.

Palys grows faster than most zoas IME, and they are bigger so they cover more space.

Marine slang talk with the reply it took me a month to
Figure out what LFS is short for ;)

Thanks,

i waited about 8 weeks from start to make sure the water parameters were decent

Yes... that´s the way to go for a successful beginning. At least, 5-6 weeks.

I like to cycle first one month without light to give bacteria advantage over algae, and then, another month with lights increasing slowly the photoperiod.

I´m not saying you can´t do it faster, but if you do it this way, your chances of success are way higher.

Patience is important.

I added two $5 frag zoas after 2 weeks. My water parameters were perfect, and I figured $10 in zoas wouldn't hurt. They are perfect and growing.
