4.8G Build

Yeah I liked two the most because it looks good with a pillar on one side which gives a cool space for plating monti or tabling acro. And a low arch for branching sps or mushrooms or other low lying corals. Maybe even a full colony of anthelia waving around on top of it.

Also how big of a scrubber do you think you could get? All I've seen are huge. I think you'd be better off exporting with and efficient skimmer over a scrubber.

I think I'm gearing toward option two. I plan on sticking mostly LPS and maybe a few SPS.
Im not too sure about the scrubber it would have to be small. I'm thinking the size would be almost to small to make it worth it. The more I look at the space I have the smaller my options are becoming.

awesome wood working skills! look great!
have a thread to document everything??

Thank you. There's a lot that I am being very critical about with the project but it is coming along. This is the only thread I have as far as documenting anything.

WOW very impressive build, great build and very different ideas. gonna follow your build for some ideas.

Thank you. I appreciate the compliments. All of the ideas are being based around maximizing the space and area that I'll be using.
I was hoping to keep the whole system on 4 outlets but that doesn't seem practical. Hopefully 6...

Not a whole lot of progress, between work and the weather I wasnt able to accomplish much. I did however get the first coats of paint on. And I was able to gather up some used acrylic for the sump.

nice build sir! so cute. ha the last thing you want to hear about your tank..

what scape did you decide to go with?
there is a build section you should add this lil beauty.

Lol. No, not quite what you hope to hear. But thank you for the compliment. I think I'm leaning towards option 2. I might play around with it a bit, but it will probably be close to that one.
I wasn't sure if this should go in the DIY section or the build section. I ended up just sticking it in here.

Looks great!

Thank you.

Paint dried, tank set in, lights and fans re-wired. There's a small gap in the corners of the hood on both sides that I need to fix and there's a little spot in the back of the stand that needs sanded down. Other than that I just need decide what route I want to take for the back of the stand then I'll need to build my sump/fuge, water test it, finish the rock work, get my sand and water buy test kits and start the cycle... Hopefully I'll have something in it before summer is over.
Oh and I also need to figure out if and what type of hardware I want to use for the bottom cabinet.

@bent no its not because I love it. Thinking about copying it for a desk build in my house

Is it weird that this is one of my favorite recent builds on the forum?

Not at all!!! I don't think it's weird, it's one of my favorite builds too. 😀

Thanks, this has been a really fun (and slow) build. Feel free to copy the build and let me know when you start.

Clean build! Can't wait to see it filled with amazing corals.

Thanks. I'm ready to fill it but I know I still have a lot to do before it gets wet.

looking great!

Thanks I appreciate the comments.

Looks Awesome! Can't wait to see this thing with rock and water!

Thank you. As much as I'm enjoying the build I'm definitely ready to get some water in it.
