4 X 4 MP40 Placement

So, I'm expecting my new 72x28x28 tank this week and i have 4 MP40's I plan to use in it. To preserve the side viewing sides I was wondering if its possible to place all 4 MP40s on the back wall? Or, is it recommended and preferred if I put two on the back and one on each side?

Thanks for your help.

Nice tank dimensions.

I run four MP40 on my standard 180 (72x24x24) and have two pumps mounted at each end of the tank. I run the long pulse mode to create a gyre effect, which changes the flow of the water from clockwise to counter-clockwise every couple minutes.

The side viewing isn't obstructed too badly IMO, but then I do most of the viewing from the front of the tank.

What type of corals will you be keeping? Will the back of the tank be easily accessible?

Clugo,

Placing all of your MP40wES pumps on the back wall is a great option. Also, it is best to place them in an area where they can provide unobstructed flow, so above your rockwork is typically best.

Alex, how would you recommend placing them on the back wall? I've attached a pic of the tank.

I was thinking 2 on each side of the center overflow; one high and one low since I'm doing a bare bottom tank.

Clugo,

To be very honest there is no correct placement. That said, a good rule of thumb is to position the VorTechs in an area where they can provide unobstructed flow.

Excellent.

So im not messing anything up by not having some on the sides?

Thanks for all the help guys.
