4 yr old clowns

I have a pair of black clowns that been together for about 4 yrs. They dont really hang out with each other, the female (bigger one) is always swimming around while the small male just stays in the back. Do you guys think they will ever pair up and mate? Is there things to do in the tank to make them spawn?

What kind of tank are they in? You need to feed them a lot, like 3-5 times a day. Also, keep the light cycle on for 16hrs a day and bump up the temp to 80deg.

They are in my 90 gal mostly sps and some lps, i dont feed much (once a day)so maybe thats why they are not spawning.
Thanks for the reply

They may never pair up. I had a tomato female and her mate went carpet surfing. She rejected 3 juvies before settling on a new suitable mate. That suitable mate turned female recently. It just may make pairing difficult with one particular specimen. That's just the way it is as I have experienced.

My GSM and Onyx pairs are inseparable, whereas my Occy and Tomato pairs have always been independent during the day. During the night, they all sleep in the same cave/flower pot/anemone. Is your pair sleeping near the same location? If not, you may not even have a 'bonded' pairing.

no they are not sleeping with each other. I bought a GBTA a month ago and finally the female is semi hosting in it. She eats way more then the male, do you think if i put them in a tank on there own it may pair up? Im going to wait till the female really host the GBTA to see if the male will go in before i try to put them in there new home.

If they have been together for 4 yrs and no signs of submissive behavior your likely out of luck. They may blossom, but I usually would assume that after a year if it doesn't happen it will likely not.
