40 breeder lighting combo questions

I'm setting up a 40 gallon breeder and using a Current Outer Orbit. It's a 36" two by 150 watt fixture with four T5's. Any recommendations to get a nice crisp bluish white light? Around a 14k. I like the look of a 14k Phoenix bulb but i know the T5's would affect the color if I just used a Phoenix.

I'd start with the phoenix first and then work into the T5s. You may like it w/o anything else on it. If you do decide to use T5s with it I'd go with, in order of most white to most blue:

ATI AquablueSpecial
ATI Blue Plus
or
ATI Blue Plus
KZ Fiji Purple
or
2x ATI Blue Plus

That's a pair of each bulb listed.

If the color is close, but not quite there you can get some cheap, weak Actinics just to add a little pop. Actinics could also be subbed out for any of the above pair. 4 T5s and 2 150w MH bulbs will be A LOT of light for that tank. I had to cut my Tek 6 bulb light back to 4 bulbs to keep some of my softies and LPS happy when my 40 breeder was up. I'd probably go with the phoenix pair and a pair of cheap Actinics, leaving the 2nd pair out aslong as there are 2 T5 ballasts.

I agree with cody6766......as long as you have good cooling and a good ATO to keep up I think that light is perfect for a 40 breeder....I will try a dig up a link to a 40 breeder running that same setup....it was awesome.

I'll experiment with the bulbs then. I was going to use a fan blowing across the water surface for cooling and an Elos Osmocontroller Digital for top off.
