Would a 40 gal breeder be large enough to house 3 small chromis, 1 LMB, 1 small hippo tang, 1 mandarin, 3 small gobies, and one small false perc for the duration of hypotreatment?
Thanks
The LMB eats anything, not sure about the Mandarin yet - he's fat from the rocks. I'll try to hatch some mysis for him and keep him cordoned via eggcrate.
If you put the Mandarin through hypo odds are he will die. It is extremely difficult(RE: nearly impossible) for a mandarin to get ich. You are better off leaving him in the tank.
If the Mandarin actually has ich you have serious serious tank problems. Their scaleless body and thick slime coat 99% of the time prevent ich from attaching. If it has ich then it is already sick and has been in a tank with sub-par parameters.

My tank has had a slight bit of ich since I added a blue tang last year - who would get a couple spots every now and then - but no other fish would get any. I added a copper banded butterfly and a royal gramma a couple weeks ago and then experienced a large outbreak, with the tang getting covered, and just about the rest of my fish showing a few spots. My tank params are rock solid and this system has been set up for 1.5 years, certainly NOT subpar. All fish are eating and acting normal. The tangs large outbreak has subsided and he's looking much better. But there a still a few spots to go around. This is the first time any other fish has showed ich - so I believe a new stronger strain has been introduced.
Im moving to a 225 in a few weeks and would like to start with clean slate - and begin qt'ing all further fish. I was under the assumption that Ich mainly attached via the gills - so how could the mandarins slime coat prevent a gill infestation?
What 'odds' are you referring to btw? This is the first i've heard of mandarins not being able to handle hyposalinity treatment.
