After one year of my tank being up and running I thought I'd post some pics of my softies. Mushrooms, GSP, Zoanthids, Red and Green Kenya Tree thus far. Will be adding some Xenia dn more Zoanthids soon.

Looks great. Softy tanks can be so beautiful.
Love the mushrooms!

I prefer softies for a variety of reasons. I love the movement more than anything, but I also love the ease of care and fast growth. If you take the time you can find many with a variety of colors. Mushrooms can be pretty colorful and zoas can be pretty trippy with colors.

Awesome! I'm a hug softie fan myself. Haters gonna hate, but I think Kenya trees are beautiful and you've incorporated them nicely with the rest.

Best,
Kryzzy

Thanks. Those red kenya trees started out no bigger than my thumb and this is how they look after one year. I just recently added the green kenya tree (dead center of the tank, to the left of the red kenya tree) only a couple of weeks ago and it's three times it's original size already.

And I just added a rock with mushrooms with a bonus of some nice red macroalgae on it (right in front of the anemone). I'll also be adding a nice large group of blue pulsing Xenia today or tomorrow)...

I love softies too, but be careful with certain ones. Xenia, Kenya trees, and mushrooms can quickly take over an entire tank and they are really hard to get rid of. Tank's looking good though!! :)

I'm actually wanting a hostile takeover! Let nature run its course and see what does what. I have no intention of getting rid of any, although I might prune depending on how it shapes up. I specifically want the ones no one else does...mushrooms, xenia, kenya tree, GSP. Bring it on! LOL.

Are you lighting a 40 breeder with a single Kessil A160WE? If so, how high above the water. I'm loving the tank, great job. I'm in the process of redoing my tank as a softie tank.

Yes, one single Kessil A160WE about 8" or 9" above the tank.

The whole display (when it first started, filled with water only...about a year ago)...

Just two little corals and two Ocellaris clowns...about 1 year ago...

Some of my Kenya trees are deflated in the video (which they do from time to time) and my anemone is checking out his neighborhood (just kind of moves around that one rock formation)...but I thought I'd throw this video out here...
