Hi Eric,

Great thread, excited to see the completed product! By the way, you have the most comfortable looking "workshop" that I have ever seen. You must have a wife that loves (tolerates) you very much.

Good job.

Thanks Josh! I have to say, the "Workshop" is pretty comfortable, now if I could just get my powertools in there. ;) Luckily we don't use the room that often, so I can stage everything there, but my wife's tolerance is running out. I need to get it done pretty quick. :)

As for an update, I finished the trim on the cabinet doors, attached the canopy doors and finished the trim on them as well. All that's left is to do a little sanding, and then just rub poly over the entire thing! I test mounted the HQI Pendant and I think it will be perfect. Once the canopy and cabinet are done, I can solidify the plumbing and start installing all the equipment. The ozonizer is on back order for at least another week, and I'm headed to Europe for vacation on the 21st, so it looks like it will be Nov before water is added. :( Sorry everyone, but like everything good in this hobby it happens slowly. :)

Here's some updated pics!

The Canopy: The doors hang open slightly, so I still need to install some magnets but here it is...

HQI installed: (just for a picture) still need to glue all the plumbing and poly rub the woodwork...

No, I've been slacking on getting poly on the cabinet. The last two day's have been spent working on a website for the family... I'm headed to Europe next Friday and I don't want to leave this baby sitting full of water with some one who knows nothing at the helm. :) I'll be trying to get it wet when I get back (early November), in the mean time, I got all my loc-lines setup, it looks like medusa in there with 10 different return lines. :)

Okay, so here's an update...

Here's the top of the stand with the neoprene (mouse pads).

Here's the upper plumbing all glued (super clean, my best glue job yet!)

Here's some more shots of the guts... I still need to install on the lower plumbing, but you get the idea... All I'm still waiting on is my Ozonizer Plus which should ship about the time we get back in the country. :)

Great looking tank so far, mad props. I like the shelf in the stand, how tall is the total stand?

Also, what is the Ameican DJ power module's model number?

Eric,

I think you missed a spot right in the middle of the tank - you might end up with a dead spot :D

LOL!!!! Thanks Scott!

Thanks djian! The stand is 37 1/2" if I remember right and the power management is the American DJ PC-100A.

Okay, I'm back, exhausted, and really jet-lagged from my Euro Trip...

I started to working on the last of the plumbing, but I still need a few more fittings... Maybe I'll get it done tonight??? Then the chore of trying to get it filled with RO/DI...

Sorry it's taking so long, but I should be able to get it finished up by the weekend. :)

Thanks bro! Give me a call when you have time if you want to come by and see it... Got my Ozonizer Plus yesterday but didn't have time to go to Lowes for the last of the fittings.

Alrighty... Time for another update!

Plumbing is finished, Ozonizer is hooked up, UV Sterilizer it out (at least for now) and first 15 gallons are in. So far so good!

Here's some more shots:

Don't worry if you can't tell where the plumbing goes, I can't either and I just finished it. :)

Here my rack for my rock and to keep the closed loop from becoming a suction of doom for any inhabitants. The top of the PVC has been drilled with tons of holes to keep the suction to a minimum.

I installed some locks on the canopy doors to keep them closed tightly (keeps any light from escaping and screwing up the view :) ) They are opened my using a magnet to release the lock on the inside which is covered in plastic to keep from rusting.
