400 gallon Midwest Custom Aquarium Upgrade

I like the idea also about the dual pumps, something I will incorporate into my dream set up list of considerations. How do you handle top off with this type of system, does one chamber still rise and fall like in a normal 1 pump system?

Each side of the sump will lower so the plan right now is to have a flow switch on each side run directly to my RO/DI unit but that could change depending on the PROS/CONS that may come up with that type of setup.

Honestly, I havent given the topoff aspect too much thought but guess I should start.

Some Goodies came today. I'll open the boxes this weekend and take some additional photos of the light fixtures.

Need some sump feedback before it gets built. Dont laugh as I'm no artist but I think you guys get the general idea.

Just a few things to point out if you were wondering since this is a top view.

-The water leaving the Drain/Skimmer section will go through a over/under/over baffle system.
-The sides of the Drain/Skimmer section will be 14" high.
-Water Level in the Drain/Skimmer section will be 10" high

Its pretty straight forward design, not much to it so any feedback would be helpful.

One thing I was wondeirng is should I go with (1) 7" filter sock holder or (2)?

Any updates on tank? I am considering the lumen Brite MH/t5/led fixture. Can't find anyone using it and looking for some feedback.

The Lumenbright fixtures are very nice. I currently have one running over a 120 gallon tank that is holding my livestock. The one thing I didnt like were the fans as they had some noise to them but Coralvue has found a better fan and has sent me replacments.

Well, the only update is a disappointing one. I'm not going to be setting up this tank as I had hoped. Some things have come up and my dream of setting up a big tank will have to wait.

So some very nice stuff will be for sale shortly.

Sorry to hear the build won't happen. One more ? On the lights .... How don you control them? I am hoping they will work with an Apex

Bummer!

Uhg!

I realy sorry to hear you won't be setting this up! Great effort so far!
I'm pretty sure I bought mt MRC4R off you, if so, it's still kick'n butox on my system!

Can I bother with one more ? On the lights???

How high off the water do you have yours mounted?

Thanks

Right now it's about 7", but I'm limited for space where its setup right now. I would like to have it as closer to 12"

Yeah that's my problem as well. I only have 20" from the top of my tank to the ceiling because of hvac returns. With the fixture being 12"s tall I am afraid I don't have enough room especially running on a 36" wide tank. Afraid I won't get the coverage I am looking for. Bummer 'cause I was really interested in this fixture. :uhoh2:
