400 watt mh shoplight

Any reasons why I woukdnt want to use a magnetic 400 watt mh over thr much more expensive electronic ballasts?

I have a few 4 way shop lights that will run on 110...

These ballasts are mounted above the reflector.. Could I just take the ballast off and mount it elsewhere and jusg run a cable from the ballast to the bulb?

im running both my mh on magnetic ballast... no issues..

Do you find they make alot of noise? I am going to need 3-4 for my cube and im afraid they will hum obnoxiously.

Depending how old they are, they could be 50% efficient. The problem with magnetic ballast is the older they get the hotter and less efficient. All that heat is wasted energy.
