4000 Gal Tank

one thing that bother me though, arn't thoes baby black tip reef sharks? Wont they get really big? I mean the tank is 20 feet long, but wont the sharks get like 5'-6' long? You wouldn't keep 4 or 5, 1-2 foot fish in a 4' (55-75gal) tank. Any one see where i'm comming from?

A few black tipped in a 4000 gal tank will do fine. there is a species of black tipped that stay small 4-5 max and a species that grows to 10', I'm sure these are the smaller type.

How deep is that tank from front to back, only like 4 to 5ft ?? I would think that a 4 to 5ft shark would look / feel cramped...

I agree with Cutiewitbooty...

the tank is 72" from front to back and those sharks only get 48". They are all female and are the smaller species.

Wow, 6ft deep from front to back, very nice... I guess thats not as bad... Would love to see this setup in person...

Proof that money cant buy taste.

I'm surprised no one commented on the brass Indian, pinapple lamp or animal print arm chairs... Blech...

i wonder what the cost of the tank was... pretty sweet tank...

i wouldnt want a coral tank that big... 10x harder to keep, plus if something goes wrong, there's so much at stake...

but i guess if u have the money anything is possible..

when tanks get that big, easier is better..

That is simply awesome. I would love to be able to see it in person someday. When you find out who owns it lets see if he wil allow a nation wide frag swap lol.

An elsmobrach can bite it's tail and therefore does not need as much room to make the turn as a like sized boney fish...Thus the 72" width.......

I contacted that company once before, I got a quote just shy of $500,000 for a comparable system. And yes, there are 6 digits.

If you don't mind me asking... Did they give you like a breakdown on everything ?? I was just wondering what a tank that size would cost ?? How thick would the acrylic have been ??

did you ever see MR 4000 tank. This guy used to be on the ECOSYSTEM web page.He built the tank using concrete forms. He made a nice reef tank and he had a video of him swimming inside of it.I haven't seen him since.
