got lots of stuff done lately but to anser your question whyamisofly the way we achieved over 8 feet was by using doweling and biscuits to join the two pieces.
Because the tank is 127" long, we where able to stagger the joints. The top and front edge are doweled screwed and glued together. The joints on the bottom and back are backed with a piece of 1" ply, staggered the joints and glued and screwed.

photo (7).jpg--a crappy pic of me putting in the biscits

photo (6).jpg--the top of the tank with the clamps holding the joints together until the glue dried.

hi everyone Im not sure if anyone is interested or if anyone will see this but i'v come a long way since the last posts iv done. Im having some problems with my corals not thriving like they should. my mag and cal levels are good ph is on point temp is where it should be and i only ever read a little ammonia before a water change which actually seems to make things worse. Im also just getting over a big hair alge problem which is exiting. im wondering if it has to do with low nutrients in the water for the coals. ill post some pics so you can see what i see. any advice would be shweeeet

Beside your image in Photobucket there are a series of URLs. Click on the one called Direct. It will say Copied.

Here in RC's Editor there is a yellow icon. Click on that and an input box pops up. Use Ctrl+v to paste the URL into the box This will put the link into your thread.
