I have purchased a ghost type overflow box for my aquarium. It has 2 1.5" bulkheads connecting the outer and inner box, and 3 1" holes in the outer box for drains. My question is can I safely mount this on the short side of the aquarium? It is about 17.5" wide and the distance between outer edges of the holes is about 13". Is that putting the holes too close to the edge of the glass? Access to the plumbing would be almost impossible if I put it on the back panel.
