40g Breeder Centerpiece fish?

Looking for a centerpiece fish for my 40g mixed reef. Tankmates will be 2 BW ocellaris clowns and a royal gramma. (and possibly 1 or 2 other small reef safe fish)

My options for a slightly larger colorful fish with personality seem to be Dwarf Angels or some sort of Wrasse. Does that seem about right? I am a little concern about the 'with Caution' reef safeness of a Coral Beauty or Flame Angel and I think a six line wrasse might be aggressive in a small tank.

Anyone have any other ideas or input?

A dwarf angel, if you are willing to accept possible coral nipping, makes a good centerpiece fish for a 3 foot tank imo.

I just added a Midas Blenny into my 40 breeder and he added alot of action to the tank. He swims in the open more then any of my other fish. His color is a very bright yellow with a hue of purple. Tankmates are a Maroon Clown, Royal Gramma and Firefish Goby.

I've been trying to figure that out myself. My oynx clown stays in her nem a 100% of the time. Its cool seeing them in a anemone but they dont leave it for anything haha.

I've got a rescued small purple tang that ill have to get rid of soon myself.

I really want a flame angel always have just dont want it to pick on my clams and corals :(

I'd also like a pistol/goby pair

Blennies are a great addition and add personality to any tank. I don't know if I'd put a sixline in a tank that size, but there are many other colourful wrasse and you can mix many of them so you could get more than one if you wanted. I have a pair of banggai cardinals in my 55g which make a stunning statement as well, although they don't swim around a lot.

all good candiates
blue spotted jawfish
pair of picassos
helfrichi fire fish
midas blenny
potters angel
tank raised mandarin

Look into a Starkii Damsel - they behave pretty much like a dwarf angel but you will have no problems with coral nipping

I have had one for 3 years and he is my favorite fish :)

Coral beauty's and flame angels really pop under atinic lighting. Dont know what kind of lights you have. But thought I would give my 2 cents on that.
